Event Description

For some, this will be your first Thanksgiving without your loved one ... for others of us, we've done this before but it still isn't easy.  Will you be joining friends or family for a big dinner? Have you decided to create a new tradition for Thanksgiving?  Are you spending the day alone?

If the day is a hard one for you, know someone will be here in the chat room to lend a listening ear, to share experiences, to hold your hand, and maybe even to share some smiles, too.

If you'd like to sign up to commit to being that "someone" in the chat room for an hour or so on Thanksgiving, please leave a comment with the time you'd like and I'll add you to the list (please include your time zone).

Today I will ask you to be untraditional.
And above all different.
If you have experienced a loss and your heart has been broken, I expect you to look out for that heart and not say or do anything that heart does not want you to do.
Don't go to the dinner you don't want to.
Don't sit next to someone you don't like.
Remember anything goes today.
You get to choose how you spend your day.

May your heart be warmed by beautiful memories.
May your body be nourished by good food.
May your mind be free, for a moment, of fear or worry.
May your soul be comforted through understanding.
May your life be enriched by kindness.
May reflection bring you moments of calm and peace.
May you feel the spirit of the loved ones missing from your holiday table.
May you be surrounded by the knowledge that love never dies.
