Let's enjoy this modern museum and tour one of the exhibits. Then we will have lunch at nearby Bubby's Restaurant.
We will focus on the Laura Ownens Exhibit. For more than twenty years, Los Angeles–based artist Laura Owens has pioneered an innovative approach to painting that has made her one of the most influential artists of her generation. Her bold and experimental work challenges traditional assumptions about figuration and abstraction, as well as the relationships among avant-garde art, craft, pop culture, and technology. We will embark in a tour of this exhibit at 1:00pm. Afterwards members can enjoy other exhibits in the museum. We will meet in the museum's main lobby at 3:00pm.
We will then proceed to lunch at Bubby's http://www.bubbys.com/menu/lunch/ at 3:15pm sharp!
Museum admission is $25, $18 for seniors. Members should be prepared to purchase their individual tickets upon arrival at the museum.
