Paul passed away on Dec 7th. 2016

My birthday is on Dec 11th.

His birthday was Dec. 15th

Susan

My Henry passed away Sept. 29th, 2017.  His 68th Birthday is coming up on Dec. 4th.  We are releasing 14 (6+8) yellow balloons.  He always complimented me when I wore my yellow T-shirt.  He'll know the yellow balloons are from me!  We are also lighting a candle at Church to honor his faith.  I am also starting a journal.  I wish he were here but he's not.

JudyR that’s a lovely new tradition. Beautiful.

The Option B web site has some good resources for getting through the holidays ... and also suggestions for our friends and family.  https://optionb.org/

Thank You

Susan

White Ribbons of Peace holds an online Worldwide Candle Lighting each year on the second Sunday of December at 7pm.

The Compassionate Friends started this event in 1997 to honor the memory of children gone too soon.  White Ribbons of Peace has created this online version to include all losses.  On December 10th, light your candle at 7:00 p.m. your local time. After every time zone has lit their candles at 7:00 p.m., we will have created a wave of light and love for a twenty-four period of time! You may share a photo of your loved one, along with your candle that is burning bright in their honor, on this page - or if you'd like to post your photo on the White Ribbons of Peace Facebook event, here's a link to join them:  https://www.facebook.com/events/821030948076534/

I've lit candles for my beloved Vern, my parents & in-laws, the loves of my widowed friends and the 58 souls from the Las Vegas shooting.

We'll be doing a couple of 'hosted' Chat Room events this month:

CHRISTMAS DAY Hosted Chat Room   http://widowedvillage.org/events/a-different-christmas-4

For some, this will be your first Christmas without your loved one ... for others of us, we've done this before but it still isn't easy.  Will you be joining friends or family? Have you decided to create a new tradition? Are you spending the day alone? Is this an anniversary or birthday month, too?

If the day is a hard one for you, please remember that someone will be here in the Widowed Village Chat Room to lend a listening ear, to share experiences, to hold your hand, and maybe even to share some smiles, too.

NEW YEAR'S EVE in the Chat Room - 11pm Eastern Time to 12:30am Pacific Time   http://widowedvillage.org/events/new-year-s-eve-in-the-chat-room-11...

Don't spend New Year's Eve alone. Join us in the Chat Room and we can bring in 2018 together.

If you're feeling festive, you can put on a party hat and have some streamers ready to toss in the air at midnight.

And if you're struggling during this holiday season, you'll find friendship and caring support here ... and we'll help you welcome in the new year with some hope for your future.

I'll try to be there.

The 17th of this month in 2012 my wife, Susan, passed in her sleep of a silent heart attack.

Each night I talk with her before turning over to go to sleep.  I discuss the day and how it went.  Today the temperature after an overnight low was around 5F and it never made it past 20.  Now, with another front coming through, the winds are howling and gusting in the 40's.  It was a good night to turn on the pellet stove and watch some TV.

((((HUGS))))

Frank

hugs, Frank

Frank,

Not sure where you live, but it sounds like what Paul & I called snuggle weather. The weather is in the teens here in Ohio at night. Stay warm.

Susan
