Share music that means something.

Maybe it reminds you of the past, or you played it at the service.

Or something that inspires you in the morning, or keeps you strong during dark evenings.

We want to hear it!

Here are some of "my" songs:

With Hope

We played this at his funeral.

the Sam Tsui version of If I Die Young

To Where You Are

This one was a thestral song. I loved it and knew all the words but only after Nathan died did I really hear what the song was about. (Thestrals are the skeleton horses in Harry Potter that are invisible until you've seen death and fully accepted the concept of it.)

Days like These

I found this on a Dawson's Creek episode, of all things.

The Promise: Into the Light

This song felt like it was written about my exact situation.

And this song

I Should Go

Though I have no idea why... It has nothing to do with death or grieving... maybe it gives me hope?

I love this song. I the beginging I cried none stop. Now only a few tears I think because I belive the words.

Music has helped me through his. Yes it makes me bawl my eyes out but at the end I can breathe a little easier...I've been posting videos on my facebook page like crazy since Felix died...

P.O.D - "If You Could See Me Now" This song is exactly how I feel.

"My soul is alive and so are you.

I'm just trying to pass the time.

It ain't easy without you.

As long as I can try, I'll make it through.

But it might take a while...

Believe me if you only knew."

Alter Bridge - "In Loving Memory" Always gets me...it's so perfect in my situation.

"I've never knew what it was to be alone, no
Cause you were always there for me
You were always there waiting
But now I come home and it's not the same, no
It feels empty and alone
I can't believe you're gone"

Sevendust - "Angel's Son"

"You were fighting every day.

So hard to hide the pain.

I know you never said goodbye.

I had so much left to say."

I think the bet songs for me are "Slipped Away (I miss you)" by Avril Lavigne and "Fire and Rain" by James Taylor. Even though he was only 24, Randy LOVED James Taylor and that is the song I played for his funeral. I know he would not have wanted it any other way. The Avril Lavigne song really represents a lot of what I feel about him leaving.
I LOVE "Slipped Away", makes me cry every time : (

Yeah that Avril song really hits it home too...

Love Lives On...it describes how I feel about my husband

Jessica, who is that by? I'd like to youtube it. Thanks.

Denny had very eclectic taste in music and wanted his favorites played at his memorial. So I made a playlist on my iPad and the funeral home played all of it through their surround sound....included Springsteen "born to Run", Mitch Ryder "Devil with a Blue Dress"' Sting -"Fields of Gold"' ,Canadian Tenors "Remember Me", Motown hits, the Rolling Stones.....all in all about 3hours of his favorites. I still listen to this playlist at night.

These are the lyrics of a song that was on the finale of 'House' last night.  The title of the song was Keep me in your heart.

Shadows are falling and I'm running out of breath
Keep me in your heart for a while
If I leave you it doesn't mean I love you any less
Keep me in your heart for a while

When you get up in the morning and you see that crazy sun
Keep me in your heart for a while
There's a train leaving nightly called "When All Is Said and Done"
Keep me in your heart for a while

Sha-lalala-lala-li-lalala-lo
Keep me in your heart for a while
Sha-lalala-lala-li-lalala-lo
Keep me in your heart for a while

Sometimes when you're doing simple things around the house
Maybe you'll think of me and smile
You know I'm tied to you like the buttons on your blouse
Keep me in your heart for a while

Hold me in your thoughts
Take me to your dreams
Touch me as I fall into view
When the winter comes
Keep the fires lit
And I will be right next to you

Engine driver's headed north up to Pleasant Stream
Keep me in your heart for a while
These wheels keep turning but they're running out of steam
Keep me in your heart for a while

Sha-lalala-lala-li-lalala-lo
Keep me in your heart for a while
Sha-lalala-lala-li-lalala-lo
Keep me in your heart for a while

Keep me in your heart for a while

Warren Zevon....

Thanks for posting this, Rose. I loved it and planned to look it up; however, I was in tears at the end of House ... wishing I had done something like he and Wilson did at the end.
