Has anyone been through this kind of therapy when going through grief? If so, did it help you?
I start next week and I'm a little unsure of it...

I see a therapist once a week and it is very helpful. It is nice to be able to share your feeling with someone in a non judgmental setting. It is especially helpful when you find one that you really "click" with.

Good luck!

thx, christine. it is 3 days a week for 4 hours a day for 3 weeks. i've just never heard of anyone with grief issues going through it but i guess it is possible. i've already agreed to my psychiatrist suggestion and am committed to going through with it. i was just wondering if anyone else had been through it and if it had helped them.
Gayle, that is a LOT.  I'm curious how you found something like that.  It seems like a really intense program.  I hope it goes well for you <3
i think it is just a less intense version of inpatient therapy (the hospital type) my dr has actually suggested the inpatient kind before...2 different ones actually. so i switched doctors again and this one said i should try it. so i am taking the hint and going for it.
let us know how it goes!
Wow that is very interesting..Way more than my once a week. Please let us know how it goes.
I have been going to see a therapist since about 4 months after my husband died, initially weekly, and then it has varied to sometimes as long as every 6 weeks between appts.  Not sure I would have made it through with her.    I met a woman in the group I attend with my kids who is enrolled in a program that sounds similar to what you are describing, but i think it was even longer I think 6 to 8 weeks.   I don't know her well, but I know she was finding good results from attending; her situation was different however, she had lost her youngest child to SIDS.     I hope it works for you as well.
