I LOVED the tattoos people shared on Facebook and hope to get a big collection here.

As for my LH, most of his ashes went into an elm tree we planted in our front yard at our new house. I won't attach the picture here because folks might think I THINK it's a picture of a tattoo but I'll post it somewhere else and then link it! (It's just a little sapling... a case where a picture tells way less than 1000 words!).

My 3 daughters and I (and my mom) got tattoos 6 months after Jim died. Mine is on the inside of my left wrist, facing me. It's an outline of a heart with his signature written over it. Below that is the scripture link to the verse from our wedding.
I NEVER thought I'd ever get a tattoo .... and if hadn't died I'd still think that.
Two of the girls have something on their wrists, one has it on the top of her foot. My mom did hers on the back of her shoulder. We all did different designs.

I love this tattoo.  I have our intertwined initials on my left foot.  I had talked about a tattoo for many years but didn't do it until after Jim died.  I am considering another one.... :)
I love the signature idea! I've been debating what/where I want to get mine. Rod's brother and I are going to go together to get memorial tattoos. I was thinking of an anklet with a heart "pendant" with his initials in it...I think I'll do his signature instead of the initials! Thanks for the idea. ((hugs))
I bought a cremation pendant - angel wings that form a heart - to put a small amount of Vern's ashes in. Love the pendant and the thought of wearing it close to my heart, but haven't yet been able to actually put the ashes in. I've tried to start it a few times, but just can't open up that bag of ashes yet to do it.
Dianne-that's lovely.  I never heard of it, and I think it's a GREAT idea.
Dianne - I got this cross after the funeral, I thought it was really pretty, and delicate looking. When it came in the mail, and I opened it for the first time, I was almost knocked out of my seat. I have no idea how I managed to miss the fact that it looks like it is fanned out a little, and has three layers ..... it was purchased to memorialize my husband and two children who died together. It was even MORE perfect than I originally thought. I mixed a little of all their ashes together, and wear it often, to carry them near my heart. I love cremation jewelry. I've since gotten another style for a friend of mine who lost her Mom. She loves hers, too.

My husband passed away October 2011. I ordered a cremation pendant also the Heres my Heart one. When the ashes came to my house in that plastic  box I had another urn I got for him with eagles and flag on it. when I took out the plastic bag that held the ashes I seen ashes in the compartment so I put them in a vial and going to put them in the necklace. He will be buried at the National Cemetary on November 11 so fitting for a Veteran. I was going to get a tatoo but he never liked them however we have our initals on his other from wayyy back when we were teenagers.

But I think the pendants are cool cant wait till mine comes in.

Dianne,

This is beautiful-  My suggestion is have someone else do it for you . My best friend did the memorial necklaces for myself, my MIL and SIL- Beautiful :)

This past spring, I got my first tattoo.  I have always contemplated getting a tattoo, but I always said that I wouldn't get one until it was something that was very very important to me.  My tattoo is a surf fishing rod wrapped around my ankle, and has a Canadian maple leaf hooked to it.  Kevin was Canadian, and he discovered a LOVE of surf fishing off of Assateague Island in Maryland when we were married.  It was something we loved to do together.

I bought this locket in silver and it has two compartments in it ... hair and a rose petal from his wreath in one side, and ashes in the other.  This company was wonderful and I have never ever had such empathy via customer service.  I love the locket and always wear it when travelling.  Here's the link:

Boo's locket

What I really think is good about this locket is that no one would ever guess that it is for ashes ...

That's REALLY cool!

Boo, very modern, kind of like the one that Dan wears.... and I love his blog post about putting it together. Warning: loaded with innuendo.
