Thanks, Dave.  How is OC?  We looked at moving to Irvine 30 years ago but ended up out here; I do love living here, however.

Hi, Dave.  I know what you mean.  We loved (past tense because now there's only "I") very much - the clean air, the wonderful schools in our district (Oak Park - very small unincorporated community); it's usually about 10 degrees cooler than the SF Valley.  We moved in when our youngest was 6 months old - now she's 29!  And I'm a grandmother... still having a hard time with that concept, 4 years later...

I'm so sorry about your loss; you appear to young to be going through it.  But then, aren't we all?

I have thought about moving closer to family, but the truth is, I there older brothers and I really don't want to be closer to any of them.  My youngest and her husband are talking about moving to Austin, TX from NYC within a year; my daughter is trying to get me to consider moving closer to them; but Texas?  No offense to any Texans, but I don't think I could deal with the heat and humidity!  Even though I've heard Austin is a lovely town...

I can still offer you a ride to Widow Camp; It's just a matter of pulling off the freeway and finding you... just in case you'd like some company!

Sure.

@ Dancing Dave - I used to live in Tustin off of 17th Street.    But then moved back to be closer to my family.

And years later met the love of my life, my soul mate and thought things would be so different.

We talked about eventually moving to CA or even to Hawaii......

Live just isn't fair to some of us sometimes....

Well I think I have almost everything ready for camp now. Had a big shopping trip the other day and got almost all new clothes for the trip, Just a few more things i want to get and I'll be all ready. Right now I'm spending a great time with my kids, and Grand Kids, the last son will be here this Friday and I will have all of them home and together. I can't wait to get picks it may be a long time before I get them all home again at the same time. The Army doesn't always let them come when I want them too. Can't wait to meet everyone on the West, the East was so great!! See everyone one in Aug.

I'm going. Flying in Thursday morning then spending a week driving around SoCal after camp, flying out of LAX.

Just 34 days to Camp!  Anyone interested in doing a Widville meetup at the pool bar on Thursday afternoon around 4pm?  It will give us a chance to get acquainted and put faces with WV names before Camp gets started Friday morning.

And don't forget that Michele will be in the Chat Room on Tuesday, July 10, to answer any questions you might have about Camp. Stop by 6:30-7:30 pm Pacific/9:30-10:30 pm Eastern.

I'm driving down from Ventura County; I"ll try to be there early enough to check in and meet you all at the pool bar!  (I don't have to get in the pool, do I? My bathing suit and I are not really friends at this point...!)

Great, Cynthia!  No worries about the bathing suit. I haven't been friends with one in years either - LOL!

Tom, Susan and I should be there Dianne, so I will for sure be at the bar. See you then!

Dianne, I am flying arriving in SD at 6:15 PM and hopefully will be checked in by 7:15 or so.  Hopefully some of you will still be by the pool then. I have signed up as a "Volunteer" through Janine. Is there typically a meeting or gathering for us to get our designated tasks?  Would that be on Thursday or Friday?  Thanks for any info you may be able to pass on to me.   I am so ready!

I think I am going to look into moving my flight up so that I arrive on Thursday at 12:45PM rather than 6:15 PM.  The pool bar gathering at 4 PM is just too tempting to miss out on. See you all in 34 days!
