I had such an amazing experience at Camp East, I HAVE to do it again!! If you're going, are you going early? Staying late? Traveling with anyone?

Wish I found this site sooner...can't make it this year (will be in Disney). It sounds like it is a great event. I am definitely going to try to attend the next one.

Hey everyone! I'm Laura. I'm not really active on this site so I may be a stranger but I am coming from Canada to attend Camp Widow! I went last year and it was amazing. So healing. I just wanted to give the first timers a heads up about how overwhelming it can be. It's like 4 days of intense therapy with fun and laughter mixed in. I cried more at CW than I do at home. I hold a lot in and it was a safe place for me to let it out and to actually talk about my grief and when I gave it a voice it all came flooding out. What I really appreciated was other widows holding my hands and rubbing my back while I blubbered away. lol. It was so cathartic. I also loved just being able to drop "the widow mask" and to be myself again. I was so relaxed. Looking forward to seeing everyone again and meeting new people too!

Hi All, I'm fairly new to Widowed Village so I just found out about Camp Widow a few weeks ago. I have been going back and forth trying to decide if I should go. I'm 7 months out and the thought of getting ready for the trip just seemed like it would be too much effort but last night I decided I am definitely going. I've booked my hotel and will be driving down from Orange County. I hope it's not too emotional but I really wanted to meet others in my same situation since I think we are the only ones who really understand just how hard this is. Looking forward to seeing everyone!

Barb - looking forward to meeting you.... I'm 10 months out and its so hard.... putting together things for my husbands celebration the weekend after camp.... So much to do....have a safe flight - and if you are there on Thursday after 4 - go to the pool bar - alot of us will be there....
