I had such an amazing experience at Camp East, I HAVE to do it again!! If you're going, are you going early? Staying late? Traveling with anyone?

I'm with you gals as far as packing is concerned. I'm driving to Cali solo for the first time - leaving at the crack of dawn on Thursday. Know that I need to get a good night's sleep tomorrow night but it's not looking too promising.

The hotel web site says they don't have a shuttle, but I recall catching a shuttle from the hotel back to the airport last year. Perhaps you could call the hotel to ask. Or you can use Super Shuttle. Shared van rate to hotel is just $8 and you can reserve online:  https://reservations.supershuttle.com/Default.aspx?content=Rate

OK.  One last question.  I see that there is a welcoming reception on Friday night from 6:30 to 10:30.  Are we there the entire time?  Do we eat while we are there or before?

Barb, last yr they had stations around the room with food-appetizers/desserts I didn't make it to the food, I was a little late and too much talking so I was hungry and glad that I had brought snacks in my room. I will be sure to gobble some food this time!

I recall reading somewhere that they're holding the Welcome Reception in a different location this year. It was a little tight last year - especially compared to the wide, open space used in Myrtle Beach. But that mashed potato bar in San Diego was extra yummy!

It's a casual event, Barb. You can come/go as you want. They had a fun icebreaker activity in Myrtle Beach that helped us get to know one another a little bit. And they had appetizer stations (and a cash bar) located around the courtyard.

If they announce 2013 dates, can they be up ASAP?  I'm planning a trip State-side July/Aug next year if I can swing the cash, and want to schedule the dates around Camp Widow.

They've already announced the 2013 dates, Trifectagirl:

April 19-21 in Myrtle Beach and June 28-30 in San Diego

They decided to move the West Coast Camp date up because August can be a difficult travel month for many who have young kids returning to school.

Also - next year is the fifth anniversary of Camp Widow so there will be a big celebration at the San Diego camp.

Dang - I may not be able to get out of work since my program closes up shop permananently on the 30th.   Some planning to do now...
