Dianne..I registered WAY back on March 12.  Have not received anything on upcoming workshop selection, etc.?

You should have received a confirmation right after you registered. Workshops have just today been posted on the web site and you'll receive your email to make selections probably next week.  You can see the individual workshop details and who the presenter is by clicking on the +sign next to the workshop. You can make your selections -  but remember that you can change your mind once you get to Camp. The selections help us to determine the size of the room each workshop needs to be in, but we always allow Campers to change their mind ... even once you've entered a workshop at Camp.

Here's the links to see the workshop info:

Workshop details are now posted on the Camp Widow web site. Check these links out to see the topics and presenters!

Thank you!

Hi Diane,

This the first time I'm attending a Camp Widow. I was planning to take an uber to the hotel Marquis but reading through the blog, it sounds like there's a problem with that. How should I coordinate a ride from the airport?

Southwest 1519

Thanks,
Emma
Looks like there is updated information from San Diego for Uber drivers on picking up at the San Diego airport. Some of the rules seem to make it harder for the drivers to pick up a customer at the airport. This is probably from political pressure from the taxi drivers who don't want to share customer with Uber.

I'm attaching the link for your information. I guess I'd try once there to see if I could get an Uber and see what the price is.
There would be no problem getting an Uber to drop you off at the airport - as that would be hard for the taxi commission to regulate.

Enjoy San Diego!

I've used Super Shuttle when traveling alone. Can schedule and reserve online.  Shows $18 for round trip airport/hotel in a shared van online.  https://www.supershuttle.com/locations/sandiegosan/

If you're traveling with someone, it ends up being cheaper to share a taxi.

Most airports make it harder to catch Uber than take a taxi. Shuttles are generally not too bad to get to. I base what I use on how much luggage I'm traveling with. If I'm alone and have a lot of suitcases, I'll just get in the taxi line because it's easier.  Here's a link to where you need to go to catch your Uber ride at San Diego airport:  https://www.uber.com/airports/san/

I'm interested in going and will decide in the next week. I would drive down from the Los Angeles area and would most likely stay in a Hilton hotel close to the marina.

We'd love to have you join us, Pathfinder.  You can decide right up to the day Camp starts - especially if you're not planning to stay in the host hotel (our room block usually sells out).  Hope to meet you there.

Dianne

Hi Dianne,

I think I remember in the past that you recommended an online site for buying dresses.  Do you still have that info and do you still recommend them?  Also, the theme this year is masquerade.  Does that mean we should wear something exotic :)
