Elaine we are all living with regrets, with broken relationships and stolen dreams. We are all being braver than we ever thought we were capable of. I know when I get up in the morning with the regulations here due to the corona virus that my day will be spent alone. If I am llucky I might have a phone call or two. This will not last forever and one day things will change again. In the meantime it is chin up,,be brave and keep on doing whatever you can to keep cheerful.

Cee......I know what you mean about being reminded every time we go out about our age.  If I have the car keys in my hand...a neighbor will panic and yell to me to stay home and let them shop for me..... no! I have to get out every 2-3 weeks, sorry

this is what I did yesterday......made a list of "future" plans....1. Set up a monthly schedule with my cleaning lady. 2.  Get back into  physical therapy 3.  Have a couple more dvd's of my husband's Celebration of Life made.  3. Make plans with friends 4. Try to be thoughtful ...example, today, I left 8 bottled waters and 4 gatorades on porch for my Gardner.  Another plan, was to make reservations in the mountains for 3 nights in August.

sooo...that's what I did yesterday when I took a brake from cleaning, scheduling the plumber, dealing with customer service on the phone etc. etc.

Another day of hanging around the house, haven't even been in the store shopping - only for pick-ups. and then I usually don't get everything I ordered. So many warning for those over a certain age to stay in it makes it even more scary.

Seems I have been spending my time with computer and phone techs trying to get things to work - this has been going on for a  month and everything is still not solved.

Luckily I seem to be feeling ok, only usual aches and pains. I hope all of you are well and working your way through this. ---but why to shopkeepers etc need to remind us of our age ?

Everyone stay safe stay well and keep in touch.

Some days I feel exactly my age. Today the bank teller asked me if I am okay staying at  home, the lady in the plant shop said if I wanted to buy a large plant she would get someone to carry it to  the car for me, the young assistant in the Post Office said she understood how bad this Pandemic was for "you older folk". They all meant to be kind but I went home thinking I must try to do something about my appearance if I looked THAT old. Maybe it has something to do with living alone and feeling tired or that I haven't had a haircut in a while.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL YOU GOOD PEOPLE

Comment by only1sue on May 8, 2020 at 3:19pm

I am starting to get tired of the routine I have set in place to deal with isolation so have to find some new activities to fill in my time. Recovery or a return to normal life seems a long way off, June seems to be mentioned as when we will be meeting in bigger groups, have all the shops open etc. Our Mothers Day tomorrow and it is only two people and dependant children visiting their Mother which doesn't apply to me. Sadly our state has the highest total of deaths so we are going to have to be more cautious.

May 8   In   an effort to  avoid  24/7  media  re  coronavirus  I  came  across  the  movie "Edie"  on  Amazon  Prime"  It's about an  84 yr old  woman who  after  being  widowed  decides to  climb a mountain in  Scotland.  Lovely  photography,  layers  of  meaning  and  full  of  hope.  Wonderful  diversion  for being self-isolated  during these  difficult  times.  Especially  fitted  towards woman   in  this  group   70  yrs or  older.  Stay  well.

Sweet lady, I actually have only been out once  in two weeks to pick up my groceries  at Walmart  that I ordered  online.  I got every  item I ordered, lots of fresh fruits and veggies.  It's  a very good  service  and I only saw the boy that put the order in my vehicle.
