Smit- I have always wanted to try white water rafting, but I'm terrified of drowning.  Where would you want to raft?  The crazy Colorado?

Ang - GIST SUCKS.  They first thought my husband has a GIST tumor, but it turned out to be Angiosarcoma.  Both suck.  Cancer sucks.  Sorry sucky cancer brought you here.  On the lighter note as well, TMNT ALL THE WAY!!

Smit & Nathan - 1 year anniversary I just went through the day and treated myself really really well.  Lots of self care.  The buildup was much worse than the actual day.  I had intended to take off work and "do it up right" if that's possible, but getting swine flu the week before really messed up that plan.  Whatever you do, it will be right for you.

Man tracker?  Fill me in.

still pondering what I will do for my year mark as well

and instead of white water rafting...I've changed the top of my bucket list...I'd really like to beat the man tracker!!! anyone seen that show? that's pretty intense.

-ps. thanks for joining us angpac.  The support on this site is a wonderful thing.

peace and healing everyone

I did a butterfly release in my husband's favorite nature preserve. His brothers, sister-in-law, nephews, my sister and my son were in attendance. It was a beautiful thing. Surprisingly peaceful and not terribly sad - very healing experience. I plan to do it again in the future for important dates and such.

Hey angpac, It took me a while to get used to this site as well. (I still probably don't know all of the in's and out's) I don't think there is really an answer for the "what's worse" question. Sudden or drawn out. I think the question is galactically impossible to answer, I lost my wife suddenly, but I don't think I could choose a side.

Do you mind if I ask what you did on your 1 year angpac? It's just that I'm coming up on mine soon, and I'm trying to see what other people did, and weather it worked out well or not.

Glad you made it here!

Hi everyone. I just joined the site recently. Haven't had a ton of time to search the site in its entirety, but glad to have found a place to go when I feel like I'm all alone. The warm welcome by many is greatly appreciated. Very sad there are so many people here however. Sorry for everyone's loss. My husband Ben passed away a little over a year ago after a 16 month battle with GIST (gastrointestinal stromal tumor). I agree with tabbitha in that it's hard to say which is worse - not knowing someone you love and care for is going to die or having to watch them slowly deteriorate before your eyes knowing there's not a damn thing you can do to stop it from happening. Cancer is an evil beast. Wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. My son just turned 7 a few days ago. Ben was his step-father, but had been in his life since he was 2. It's been really difficult for the both of us. On a lighter note I can't really comment much about Power Rangers (although pink anything gets my vote), but if you turn to the subject of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - now you're talking! lol And suddenly I have a pizza craving. Strange.

Ooooh, skydiving?  Awesome - you should talk to Erin Berky - she did it with American Widow Project and loved the experience.  Greece has always looked amazing.

Fun thing to do: How about we each share one thing on our bucket list!
