Okay, let's talk about "camp crash." For those of you who have returned home after living in the bubble of understanding and support that exists at Camp Widow® for several days, please know that…Continue

I love how people come away from camp feeling empowered.  It gives a little roadmap to our new lives.  We learn that SO MANY THINGS ARE POSSIBLE!  I will say that I took what I learned last year and put them into play...not always to the best of my ability, but I've tried.

This year will carry on what I learned last year.  This year I will work on being OK. That was MY come away message.

I have changed the way I have thought about so many things...I am learning what's important, and what is just noise.  I am truly rediscovering me.  I like it.  It's a little uncomfortable, but I will survive.

I have heard...ya gotta feel it to heal it.   Well then...

A counselor and financial advisor all in one week!  You go girl!!!

I am feeling the crash now.  I've been busy this weekend with my daughter's softball but the feeling of being understood has gone away.  I loved Camp Widow in that I felt "normal".  Like everyone understood the things I was going through.  I am making strides though.  I have a meeting with a financial adviser on Monday and I found a counselor to call.

I really enjoyed being at CW in San Diego last week-end ! I just registered for next yr's camp in San Diego. My friends here at home say I look 10 yrs younger...I'll take that. Had a lot of wonderful experiences. I felt so loved, cared for, and understood!

Went to San Diego last weekend.  I loved camp.  It was so great to be with those like me.  Some of the presenters really impacted me.  I am now reading "Second Firsts".  Excellent book that will help me get out of the "waiting room".  I want a new life and don't want to be stuck in grief.  I don't think I crashed really... as I had to go back to work and i do have some friends here that I connect with.  Plus I know that I have some new WV friends in my town that I will see again. All of this is a big help to me.  Looking forward to seeing Dianne and Ann Marie in the near future.

Sue...wait for me! You don't wanna hafta do all the driving! Gotta get a rig big enough fir my 1 dog and 1 cat too! Oh and by the way...I saw where the next regional meet up is...maybe next time :)
I had minor meltsown before heading off to bank but managed to hold it together at grocery store...had been avoiding this particular one cuz it's where I shopped dor us for 25 years. Very upbeat energetic cashier at Kohls and I was compelled to explain my raccoon eyes. She was probably in early 20s and said one should enjoy life since life is too short and that it is our life. I think that's what gave me chance to have dry eyes...for awhile.

Sue,  I have been thinking that a small SUV and a small travel trailer are in my future too.  Since I am going to be staying with my son and dil and gbaby (he is in army) I need to find a way to be really mobile.  Plus I was a few months, save up money...then tell them " I will be back in 2 months" and hit the road.  Janet (Morgana) and I are really serious about this.  Want to do some road trips and go visit fellow widows/widowers and see places we have never seen.  We are going to call ourselves "Gypsy Widows" if you go the 5th wheel route...we can all meet up somewhere!  The possibilities are endless.  ((Hugs))

Oh oh oh ... come to southern Nevada, Sue!!!  I need someone to push me to get out and have some fun on the weekends.

My son ... well let's just say he has been the cause of many a night of those primal/guttural noises. I've come close to running away from him and everyone - just disappearing - several times. I get it.

You've made some amazing decisions and have made such a difference in the lives of so many widowed people.  You've got this.  Who knows what doors will open for your future now that you're ready.

Love you ♥
