Denver, Colorado

I'm in Northern Arizona... Flagstaff!

Frenchtown, Montana

I am usually in southwest Arizona and am spending the summer in Albuquerque, NM. I would love to connect with others nearby!

Hi Spunky.  (When I was a little girl I had a stuffed elephant that was named Spunky; he was my oldest brothers, and went though all four of us kids, and when I had my first baby, my mom fixed his "paws" and gave him to me for her; she passed him on to her sister when she had her first one...). If you are every up in Northern AZ, I'm in Flagstaff!  I"d love to meet up! I'm on Facebook; Cynthia Miller Horacek.

Good morning, Cynthia! I usually drive through Flagstaff as I travel between Yuma & ABQ so I may well take you up on that offer in October. I have a Facebook page, but go to it only once or twice a year: virtual connection for me places way behind face-to-face connection! So I am quite awkward and slow with handling even the technology here at WV. The name Spunky also has a long history with me, first being the name I gave a dog I adopted from a rescue group in the 1970s; she lived with me a long time and always looked for the fun things in her life. It seemed a name I needed to take on after my husband died, telling myself I could bounce back.

I'm trying to figure out how to invite other WV members from northern NM to this group so we could consider a meet-up, but I haven't figured out how to do it yet. LOL! Would you be interested in making the drive?

Hello.  I'll send you a private message through the "friend" thing on Widowed Village with my phone number.  If you are passing though, get in touch.  My daughter is having baby in October, so I don't know exactly when I'll be in town!  But if I am, you have a place to stay!

I don't know if I'd be able to make the drive to NM or not.  I'm not good at driving long distances, as I get very tired very quickly.  I tried starting a SS local group when I first moved here, but didn't get enough of a response.  It was like, one person would come, or someone would say they'd come and I'd be sitting alone in a restaurant waiting and they didn't come.  There was another widow's group in town that was part of Modern Widow's Club, but after the organizer left town, it disbanded.  Some of the ladies still meet but when they became the "Flagstaff Christian Widows" I left because I"m just not comfortable being a group with that title as I am not a Christian!  They are a nice group of women, but it was only open to women.  SS also is open to anyone as you no doubt know.  So, that's my history.  But please keep in touch and you never know... I may decide to make the drive, and I my find a widow or two to join me!

I'm in Flagstaff, Arizona

Heather, I'll be in Flagstaff tomorrow evening. Cynthia & I are planning to have dinner together. Would you like to join us? I sent you a friend request & will recheck the site a bit later to see if you've answered, then we can communicate privately about when & where if you are interested. This path we walk can be so very lonely.. . . .
