How come I hear about more people dying of it. My husband was healthy, ate well, never drank orsmoke. Why am I a widow, he was a very healthy person. I don't believe pancreatic cancer is rare.Ava Continue
ebwilkie said… Sorry I took so long to answer. I was gone away for a few days - just catching up on my e-mails. I see your husband had pancreatic cancer, just like mine and they were both 61 when they passed away! Isn't that a bad disease? My husband suffered so much but he kept it hidden. What I mean by suffering is the wasting away and extreme tiredness. Plus the treatments - they were hard on him and didn't help. I was hoping at first that he would try everything but by the end I wished that he would have just lived out his days without treatment. I think I would do that if I got pancreatic cancer.

I am so sorry for your loss. You will find a lot of support on this site, although as I recall the first few weeks were a fog (4 months here), but we've all been there. Sending you hugs from California.

What beautiful photos, thank you for sharing them with us. Sorry you are here but glad you found us so soon. 24/7 support for when you need us, even if just reading posts and chat room...sometimes helps. Your not alone in widowville. (((hugs)))
Oh my goodness of course you're having a hard time! I wasn't even able to focus enough to talk at this point!!! Be good to yourself.....don't expect too much and of any advice that I got that I feel is worth passing on the most important is not to make any important decisions for a while. We're here for you!

Ava. totally agree that PC sucks. Jud lived such a healthy life. It is so unfair. You look like you had a wonderful trip. We actually took a trip to France during Jud's treatment. Trying to build memories as fast as we could. Jud died in February, around the time your husband was diagnosed. So unfair! He was healthy initially and then things went downhill. I miss him so much. My daughter does not live here and the loneliness is sometimes so profound. I have had some wonderful supportive friends but nothing fills the hole he left.
I really have appreciated this site. Hop on chat some time. Introduce yourself and if you have a serious question or issue, just make your needs known and everyone else will settle down. Sometimes things can get a little silly here but people do know how to shape up.
What was your husband's first name?
