Hi Diana, I haven't been on this site in at least a year, but thank you for reaching out.  May 21st will be exactly 1.5 years since my husband's suicide.  I was in a bubble just handling things as best I could for about 3 months, and then I fell apart right around my son's birthday.  The full weight of what happened finally came crashing down.  But then things started to get easier.  I stopped questioning WHY he did it, and just accepted that it was done.  Almost a year ago I decided I was ready to start dating again (I know there is judgement for this bc it had only been 6 months, but I was in a miserable marriage and no longer in love with him).  Days after I decided to date, I met someone by complete chance, and we are still together, talking about moving in together and marriage in our future.  He adores me and my kids, and they adore him.  I honestly never imagined being so happy with someone; I had been at the point of believing I was capable of loving a man so fully.  My kids are currently in therapy, and I've been for several sessions, and will absolutely go back as needed.  Talking through all of this has been key in the healing process for all of us, and we are still healing.  My kids and I are still living in the house where it all happened, and I'm anxious to move out soon, hopefully within the next year.  There are so many good memories there, but it's all overshadowed by that one horrible memory.  I often reflect on that night, which I suppose will never completely go away, but it will be nice to one day not see where it happened on a daily basis.  I can say that at this point, I'm happy and life truly is good.  I wish you the best and I am here if you need to talk or ask for advice.
