I've been trying to cook more healthy food as well; I am making a whole lot of souvlaki :) it's been a long time since I did a lot of cooking; I don't really remember how to meal plan! I have all of these vegetables and I don't know what to make!! So I am doing a lot of experimenting. Sometimes it goes better than others ;)

Hi Julia! I've been trying to get more exercise too, it does seem to help. For a little while my company was working at reduced hours-- I was losing my mind without work to focus on. It's good to be working full time again; I'm glad that you've been able to keep working through this as well. I know just what you mean about the chores-- I keep letting mine get out of hand as well. What are your dogs names?? I have two cats, Munchkin and Ally cat. They've been great company for me as well.

What have you been cooking recently?

Hi JuliaB. Thank you for reaching out. I'm sorry about your wife. I lost my partner on February 20, 2019. It's been tough 17 mos. since. My first year, I focused on surviving as I struggle to accept him gone. It's only been a month for you. So I commend you for reaching out early bec you will need the support. I resolve to move forward the best that I can. This is what my Alex would want me! Tell me about your wife if you like or how your day is going. btbh

Hi Julia. When I joined this group in 2011, they welcomed me to the group nobody wants to be a part of, but said I would find a lot of support here. It was true. I had lost my partner of 24 years. Now I am back. My second wife died May 28 of metastatic breast cancer. I am so sorry for you loss. There is both an LGBT group and a Lesbians only group if you are interested. It isn't real active sometimes, but it does provide a safe place to process your loss.

Dear Julia,

I am very sorry for your loss.  I know how difficult those first few days and weeks are.  It may be trite, but it is true that the passage of time helps.  I hope you are getting the support you need.  Camp Widow/Soaring Spirits is a great organization and can be really helpful.

Thinking of you and wishing you the best.

Rob
