If you have had to move to a different home and you have children, how did they handle it?

After 2.5 years we are going to be moving to a smaller home in about a month.  I have talked about especially with  my oldest son(now age 9) since shortly after Brian died. He is up and down and get pretty upset about leaving at times.  I am allowing them to pick colors to paint their rooms and am trying to build some fun and excitement around the move.I know that even I am not exactly happy that we have to do this after living here for 13yrs, having our kids grow up here no to mention that we…See More

Hello everyone.I am not on the Village very often and I probably should be on more.  My husband died 1/19/2011. Yesterday I did something I have wanted to do for 18mos.  I went to visit my sisters and brothers in the Trauma Intensive Care Unit(TICU) at RI Hospital.  This staff was amazing in their care of Brian and in thier care of me during Brian's 4weeks there.  Because Brian could not talk to me I spent so many hours talking to and getting to know them. Happy Birthday, it was mine today too Kathy and I have missed all the same things. It is hard for us both today and my thoughts are with you. I hope the tears did not flow too hard for you, but our grief is one of the things we have to deal with. This was my first birthday without Keith as he passed away on 20 December 2010. We are both facing a year of firsts and from some of the things I've read it's not always the first year that is the hardest. Just remember the love you shared, I am sure he is there in spirit, I know that Keith is:), to me that is a comfort.
