"I notice you mention granddaughter, cousins, etc.  It sounds like you are surrounded by support.  But what if you don't have support? What I am doing is trying to go to counseling to get some help with my severe depression."

MIssion Team - Guadalcanal

I just got home from a 3 week long Mission trip to the South Pacific. The first week was spent with 6 others from my home church, a Missionary who lives on American Samoa, and 3 others. This picture was taken at the American Memorial that is at the top of the ridge above where the church meets there. The people of…

Anna Kay & Grandma

Sharon Kay and Anna Kay. Anna was the only Grandchild we have named after either of us.

Little Anna Kay is 3 now. We see so much of Sharon Kay in here.

Two weeks ago I was at her house and she took my hand, insisting I come to her room.

She leapt up on her dresser and pointed to this picture,…

Big day for Ron !

Today is a big day for me :-)

It's the last day of my 40th year at my job.

I am an engineer. Over the years I have worked on almost everything that John Deere makes. Some projects very small and some very big. My first love is Tractors. I decided this was what I would do with my life when I was 16…

Hi. Ron! Sorry for the late reply. I am not on here daily. (i was widowed in sept. 2009.) In the last year or so I found that the posters became much more negative than in the first years so I drifted away. Since i could not reach in and shake or strangle some of them, i thought it best to take a break for a while. People tend to come and go so the dynamics of the boards and chat change now and then. I come back occasionally to catch up with the many friends that I made in my first year on here. I think your "Don't Stew blog was one of the best ever in getting others to really look at where they are, what they have accomplished and where they want to go. Way To Go, Ron! The sadness and doom and gloom are totally expected in the early years, but some have been widowed as long as I have or more and still tell the newcomers that it does not get better with time and that everything still sucks. That became toxic to me. But, I imagine some of them were probably "woe is me" in their life before widowhood, too! Enough judgment on my part...God forgive me!! So, I heard or read that you are leaving for a mission trip this, wonderful and how awesome. Giving and doing for others is so very self-healing. I wish you well, I will pray for your safety, and hope that you will share your experience with us when you return. What a small world that you have traveled to the southern most part our waterfront property state. My husband was born in Houma as his mother lived there but they moved to Thibodaux right after. Did you once live there being you saw your very-young-once-girlfriend there!? I recall my first crush...I was in first grade and I went to school with him until graduating high school and I never once spoke to him!! Take care, Ron...peaceful thoughts as you travel and happy healing to your wounded heart.

Thank You for the Birthday wishes.

I just got off the phone with my Sister, she told me she can hear in my voice that I "am in a better place" from the time I joined WV. God bless you all :-)
