Hi,

Your post touched me deeply. I too was scared after my husband's sudden death.  I had to learn that it was OK to be scared and that trying to be strong and courageous all the time was just not working. I am a year and 2 months out on this journey and I see a grief therapist who is also a clinical psychologist once a month. Fear and anxiety are really normal reactions when our world dramatically changes in an instant. Over the past year the anxiety has faded somewhat.  There are still moments but not like in the beginning.

We too were at a point where we could focus on us. Our children are grown.  I had retired and my husband was retiring in August (he died in June).  We had plans to travel and just take it easy for a year. Now I am trying to figure out who I am and where I am going next.  Taking it one day at a time.
