I know what you mean about thinking you would grow old with Phil...I thought the same about my future with John. I looked forward to growing old and "doddery" together. :-) We enjoyed trips to France every year for the past 10 years and we were planning to return again to Provence this September, but last year was John's last trip to France. You are correct. This is the most stupefying pain I have ever experienced. I've noticed that I must pay extra, extra attention while driving because my attention drifts. It's scary sometimes. I will get through this, but it will scar me for the rest of my life. This is something I know. Hearing your stories helps me. Thank you, Vanda. :-)

Dear Vanda,

This is Laurel. I’m so sorry your husband had to suffer with that demon pancreatic cancer, like my dear man. My husband was originally diagnosed in November 2015, he had a Whipple procedure and chemo and we thought he was on the happy path, but we found out it had spread when he had his first 90-day CT-scan. Then 3 more chemo regimens, 1 regimen of radiation, and 2 clinical trials. The cancer kept on coming and finally my dear man passed away. He found so valiantly—the bravest and strongest man I’ve ever known. I love him so and I hate this cancer!

Take good care of yourself and stay in touch here.

Peace & love,

Laurel

Myself, this hateful widdahood is all new to me.  My Jerry passed away very suddenly of an MI in Dec 2017.  I'm still bobbing around tring to stay afloat.
I'm divorced, as well.  My children's real father died of cancer 2 weeks prior to Jerry.  So, we've really been hit hard and all of us are reeling.  I have 3 kids.  21, 17, and 16.

The friends I've made here have held me up, made me laugh, and let me cry!  The wisdom of those farther out and all the different perspectives will help you to make sense of the topsy-turvy emotions we all have!

So nice to meet you, but I really do hate it's under these circumstances!
