The UW in my name stands for unwedded widow. My fiance Ron died from a sudden heart attack caused by severe obesity on September 4, 2004. He was 34.
My mission, which grew out of my loss, is to love people "from the inside out" and motivate others to do the same. I blog about this, as well as other issues of appearance and acceptance, at http://lovingfromtheinsideout.blogspot.com.
I also blog about my efforts to reclaim my life from much pain and heartache (from widowhood as well as other things) and to find some personal happiness, along with whatever other topics I feel like here: http://aroadlesstraveledblog.blogspot.com/.

Who's going to Camp Widow West and wants to share a room?? If we put 4 in a room, that'd only be $54.75/night at the CW rate. The flight there is gonna be insane, so the cheaper the room is the better! If you wanna bunk together and save $, Inbox me here (or on FB if you're on my FB).
I know Dianne is working on this, but just in case: Is anyone driving from Ohio or a surrounding state/area to Camp Widow East? I'd like to carpool. If you are or know someone who is, please Inbox me here. Thanks!
Just had a "friend" tell me on FB that I'm not a widow, as my boyfriend (who I was intending to marry, so I call him my fiance)--not husband--died. She quoted the dictionary to me. I realize she has not yet been educated about the TRUE definition of a widow. My everlasting thanks in that regard go to Kim Go for writing this article, which explains it: http://open.salon.com/blog/alive_and_mortal/2010/06/07/the_widows_gates. I put up that link and said "please read this." Even though "she hasn't been educated yet" may be true, and it doesn't bother me to the same degree it used to, it still raises the hackles, ya know?!? I'm realizing: We need to educate! And I want to do more to make that happen! I've started by contact a Merriam-Webster lexicographer, who I follow on Twitter. But there's more to be done...!
"My plane arrives at 10:05, so if you're willing to wait about a half hour, I'd love to share a ride. I think it'd be cheaper though if we reserve a shuttle. The Marriott doesn't have its own shuttle, but there are generic…"
