My life forever changed on 29 October 2011.  My husband of 20 years, my love, my life, passed away in his sleep.  How could this happen?  He just had a second back surgery on 25 October 2011, and was released from the hospital the next day.He was a Gulf War Veteran and had alot of medical issues from his military service time.  I feel so let down by everyone, especially the VA.  I walked into our bedroom at about 1230 at night, i couldnt hear him snoring and when i went into the room i found…

I'm so sorry for the loss that brings you here, but glad you've found us. The groups are helpful, as you'll get to talk to people in circumstances similar to your own. The chirping you hear is the chat room, it's in the bottom right corner of your screen. I hope to see you there sometime. I hope you'll find the same support and understanding here that I have.

Hi :) thanks for the friend request! We have a lot of simularities: my husband was a gulf war veteran but died suddenly from unrelated causes. I have 2 boys ages 18 and 13. My husbands death was sudden as well. It's been over 7 months and i want to let you know that even though you may not believe it right now, things will get better again. Very slowly and painfully you will work through your grief and the fog that you are in right now will start to lift bit by bit. I am so very sorry for your loss! You have come to a great site. There is a lot of support here.

Kimmig, I'm so sorry for the reason that brought you here. but so glad you found us. I felt the same way as you, I needed someone that could understand me and all of the emotions that go with the loss of a spouse. My friends couldn't and still don't understand me at all. This loss is like no other, If they haven't "lived it" they will never "get it". You will find great comfort here, I know I have.
