Baby Steps..

Over the last few weeks I have noticed an new optimism in my thoughts, that maybe my life can go on, I can be happy again.

I am eating again and not only eating but cooking real food and not just throwing stuff in the microwave.

New to WV

Hi all. I am new to WV. I became a widow in 2009 when my husband tragically lost his life in an airline crash at the age of 52.

I am surprised that 6 years out and It still is so tough. Sometimes I feel more alone now that I did a few years ago.

Does anyone else feel that way?

Also, I read about the Widows camp. Can anyone offer me some feedback on that? Is this camp only for those who have lost someone more recently? Also, for those who have attended, did you attend alone or… Continue

Living (patiently) in the Gray

I have never been a hoarder. I have never been one to keep things because someone gave me something that might be asked about later, or that perhaps “someday” I might need. Mostly, this has served me well albeit occasionally I have had to re-buy something that in a de-cluttering frenzy made its was out and should have stayed in-but this is a rare occurrence. Meet Me In My Dream

I had my wonderful husband for 15 years before I lost him 2 weeks ago, in the blink of an eye. Every night we had a couple of things that we would say to each other. I'd say Sweet Dreams and he'd say, "Of Rythm and Dancing". Totally corny, but also totally us!  We also said, "Meet Me in My Dreams".  When I was looking for a poem to put on his memorial card I looked up Meet Me in My Dream and found this poem.  It was perfect.
