Hello All.

Thank you thank you for all your thoughts, prayers, and  kindnesses after my mother's passing.

I miss her terribly but going one step at a time. I miss Drew terribly of course  and now  I am crying and hollering for them and others  as I prepare another bubble bath to try to relax.

The other half of the  Pepsi Cola scholarship girls  as the neighborhood called them, entered hospice two hours before  Mom died. Auntie is still in hospice, end stage Alz and end stage kidney failure.  Life is something is it not ?

With Drew, Mom and Mom in law helping from above, my Easter Ham came out perfect as did my orange pound cake

Doing some retail therapy  which helps , a semi formal early June ,charity fundraiser. I know a lot of folks going better than sitting at home and for a good cause.

And looking for a suit wrinkle free thinking pale pink or yellow for Monday June 23. International Widows Day. Program at the United Nations.

Decided to go has any one been ?

Wrinkle free  outfit as I am taking the train from Philadelphia. Focus on awareness of other countries horrendous mistreatment of widows allowed by law. Cannot own property, house reverts to late husband's male relatives, after a year can be forced to marry one of his relatives  can lose custody of minor children if widow angers them etc.

Often no assistance from the widows family, they uphold these customs or too afraid they will be in trouble or worried the widow will bring bad luck etc. Will share info about my day.

Havent been to the United Nations since my Mom was the Brownie leader and our troop spent a day in New York.

Take care everybody. Drewlady

Wow, a day at the United Nations, sounds like dream come true.  I don't even know that we acknowledge International Widows Day in Australia so maybe I will start with the widows at church for a morning tea and see where we go from there.

I like your determination to move forward.  It is something I am trying to do right now, get back into some volunteer work, take up a new hobby or two, plan some good times into my retirement years, wish me luck.
