I've decided we don't always recover from loss, we mutate. I'm trying to mutate into someone who's better with options and uncertainty. When I tried to put that into action on a solo trip to Carmel, I rushed home. I write about it on my blog here:

Mutation into someone foreign?   No,  I also think it's about growth and maturation.  I heard someone say that all marriages end (unfortunately) in death or divorce.  This reminds me that life is short...too short to stay stuck where I don't belong.  I challenge myself on most days to try new things and being okay being uncomfortable in my "new shoes".  My journey has opened my mind to a whole new world of possibilities and I have learned to be grateful for what I have in my life despite the tragedies and obstacles.  Mutation sounds like I am an unwilling partner to these changes.  On the contrary, I purposefully allow and make changes in my life so that I can find greater meaning and purpose in the remainder of my life.

Mutate -no ...

My 9 years have been about growth & maturity ...

I never searched for a magic cure for grief, I educated myself on the purpose of grief & emotions always believing this journey would bring me full circle to where I needed to be as well as learn to cope w/life's tragedies ...

Life is calm & peaceful now ...

For me, it had everything to do w/how I defined grief as well as worked w/it ...
