How nice to see my TEDx talk on Widowed Village! Did you post it, Mac? I've been a member of Widowed Village for a while, but haven't done much here because I'm spread thin on the computer and promoting my new book about loss and love. I'm grateful the talk is shared here since I love Soaring Spirits and Camp Widow.

I love this list of things that make you grateful. My husband died in 2008, and it didn't take long for me to realize that my grief was completely entwined in our love. I learned also that I could fan the flame of love by "fanning the flames of my grief." And that ritual would create a strong container for grief/love.

I'll be giving a workshop on ritual and grief in Tampa in February. My first Camp Widow was in September in Toronto. I feel that you are welcoming me in and giving me a big hug. If you're in Tampa, please introduce yourself. Thanks so much and may your gratitude list grow longer and longer.

Grateful for the life that we had.
Grateful for the lessons that I have learned on this "journey."
Grateful for the incredible opportunities that I have been given to celebrate Cindy's life, including climbing Mt. Fuji and watching the sunrise with my SIL and her family.
Grateful to have the photos, videos, letters, her writings about our life together and all of the memories.
Grateful for my choice of "fanning the flames of my grief" when the sorrow was so intense, it has served me well.
Grateful for so many of the experiences in my "new life."
Grateful for so many of my new widow friends.
