Widowed Village

A community of peers created by the Soaring Spirits Loss Foundation

A heartbreaking story that demonstrates why marriage equality matters so, so much. I used to think gay marriage was a sort of "paperwork" concern and it seemed to me that most of my gay friends didn't care all that much. Over the years it has been more and more obvious to me why this legal protection is so valuable. This video is absolutely beautiful and so sad. No one should have to go through this garbage when mourning a loss!

parts of this remind me of what i went through with jeff's parents.  not the hospital stuff, but the parts with the mother.  i didn't relent.  i didn't let them win.  what's also important about what happened here is that they didn't have wills.  wills and poa's would have blocked his parents out of everything.

That is why am I so glad I live in Canada marriage is legal between two men or two women.  What gives anyone the right to tell you who you should love or marry.

This is so sad,  I would rather see 2 peeople In Love,  than the abusive marriages people go through.

Shattering. This is not right. I belong to a Congregational Church and, above all, Congregationalists stand for letting people make their own decisions. They voted, for the first time in the last twenty-five years, to take a stand for gay marriage. There has been a considerable amount of activism, such as marching in the Gay Pride parade, that has never happened before. This video really brings home a huge reason "why" gay partners should have these rights. Sadly, this is not far-fetched. Thanks, Supa.
