It’s been a little over 5 weeks since I lost my beloved Alan. I remain in touch with his brothers and parents as well as some of his friends. To provide some mutually needed support, I’ve been seeing his parents regularly. It gives me much comfort to keep up the routine of visiting with them, and I like to think that they find comfort in my visits with them too. I am extremely fortunate that they have been so warm and loving during this most difficult of times.
My husband’s name was Larry (Lawrence) and he was a 2nd, he had 5 half sisters, Lisa, Linda, Louise, Leslie and Lori. His dad’s first wife was Loretta and their dog was Lassie. They were in the Guinness Book of Records. The youngest sister was 10 years older than him. 4 of them came and helped right after and they’re all keeping in touch. His mother lives with me (helpful and crazy making) and he has a bunch of cousins in the area who we see occasionally. It’s only been 8 months, but other than my husband being gone, we seem to be going as we were with his family. His sisters are great (even the one they consider crazy!).
Yes, I was very fortunate that my wife’s brother and his wife lived nearby and were able to be there actually staying with us when she came home in hospice. Providing some needed help and support leading up to her passing . Since then they continue to reach out regularly to check in and invited me to join them for activities.
I called his youngest brother to let him know my husband was in the hospital, knowing he would let his siblings know so I didn’t t have to call them all. 5 days later i Called and let him know my husband came home on hospice and let him know when he died 2 days later.

Bill was an only child born to older parents. When he passed, I did let his aunt know — but she passed away shortly after him.
