Life is never know

You never know when someone you love, or yourself is going to pass away, unless you have to deal with long term illness. Before Joel died I didn't really think about this a lot. Him passing suddenly knocked me off my feet and shook me to my core. Even after 3 years it is crazy trying to wrap my head around the fact that he is gone. Gone from my eyes...but not my heart. Very few people in life actually reach our souls...he was one of them. Life is never know...and really thank God… Continue

Life is to short to wait for your life to start again. We on here at WV know that all to well.

Hi Nancy! Thanks for connecting. I'm going on 3 years also - lost my husband in May 2010. It has sure changed my perspective on life and death. Even though he'd had cancer and it had recurred numerous times, we still were expecting more time. I don't take that for granted with anyone anymore!

Seattle is my home town - live in San Francisco now - so your name attracted my attention. I have had many sleepless nights, too. It's getting better, I will say. But some days still seems pretty fresh! I'm really reaching out to a lot of old friends (mostly girlfriends) because I want to get out and do things. Most of them are happy to reconnect, and it feels good. I'm not waiting for people to come to me - life is too short!

Hi again Nancy,
Music is important to me. I play guitar, bass, and piano. I love to play and write music. Music is very healing for me anyway.

In Ohio, i was in a band called "Mid-Life-Crisis". We played oldies, Motown, 60's, 70's etc. What fun that was!

I also played in a band at a 50's diner. We played outside under cover on Saturday nights in the summer. Folks would bring their restored cars to show off. My wife would sit in the audience with her sister and another spouse or two. After every song, she would shout "Wooo-Hooo! That bass player's HOT!" . It would crack me up every time! I can still hear her voice saying that. Really a blessing.

I hope you are able to find peace as the days go by. All my best to you!

I get it...its been 3 years for me and there isnt a day that goes by that I dont miss my awesome man. It is very wierd...even 3 years later. I still look at certain prized posessions of his and expect him to be there as well. Im a very positive upbeat gal with a great sense of humor. I have a nice circle of friends zand
supportive family...but nothing makes a difference in how much I miss him. Sometimes I miss him so much I just ache for him....but I do know now that I have to go on with my life and am trying to make it the best that I can and find joys where I can and laugh. Its never easy...theres no handbook for this...but I know my Joel would want me to keep looking forward and keep moving one foot in front of the other. I dont plan like i use to ...lifes too short...but I do have goals and am determined to make it through. I still dont know what my life will look like except that it will have my love for Joel in it forever and cherished memories of that great love.
