Drewlady/Confident Widow Hosting A Grief Conference and Resource Fair

Hello All.  September and October Blues this Fall.

Many of you know what I mean. And is it me or is Fall unusually beautiful this year ?

Well had to try to shake it off because I surprised myself and secured funding for a  Grief Conference and Resource

Fair .   Sat November 16    11am to 2pm.    Every thing is FREE !!!  And wrote the proposals in the middle of the night.

Pamela Porter's Grief Conference and Resource Fair

            Crown Plaza Hotel  Valley Forge

            260 Mall Bouvelard

            King of Prussia, Pa. 19406

Across from The King of Prussia Mall

I really struggled with which population widowed, bereaved parent, decided to make this an open event. I'm in both villages. And I have met many who are in both villages as well.

It was important to me to have a non paying event which would encourage anyone interested to come. On the job as medical center social worker and off  I continue to meet widows/er who are in  very unfortunate situations sometimes bordering dangerous. As low income  working  couples they were barely keeping a roof over their heads  and now the spouse  and the  house is  gone  or who knows for how long before the sheriff arrives. Children now uprooted too and hungry and really acting out. No surprise.

I also am meeting men and women of all ages who have never touched a computer , or have one but dont know how to use it, no one to assist, and quite a few had purchased a computer for the children but some friends or relatives who moved in to"help out" took the computer when they left. So  SS WV WWS WVoice all these great resources a lot of  widowed cannot access.

The Resource Fair will have representatives with lots of information from local grief groups for adults, programs for grieving children and teens,  health and wellness organizations ,financial, and the military. Just confirmed that representatives from Women Organized Against Rape are coming a very serious issue all hospitals see widowed victims. Each Representative will address the  group of attendees and have the  opportunity to speak individually.

Only time for one Workshop " Twas The Nightmare Before The Holidays" Mrs. Pamela

Crown Plaza has been wonderful to work with and discounted the catering so there will be a brunch and later more hot cold beverages and snacks.Attendees and reps will enjoy the catering. Each attendee will receive a gift bag.

Also buses come from many areas to the King of Prussia Mall so hoping those without cars will come.

I put my name on the conference because "Mrs. Pamela Porter" or "Mrs. Pamela "would be familiar to many and I am really pleased with the response.

This conference is for ANYONE wanting to attend. Please share this information with others.

MUST  RSVP by Fri Nov 1       [email protected]  OR   888 363 9380

WWS group members, widowed and bereaved parent sororitory sisters and widowed friends of my mother and aunt have offered to assist.    Much appreciated !!!

We of course are all hurting but  as my grandmother Anna would say "you think you have it hard in your situation

look around and reach out."

Take good care of yourselves !!!
