Drewlady/Confident Widow Miscellanous

Hello all.

Well my daughter left for graduate school in Chicago this morning. My son left for a trip yesterday morning then will start commuting to his grad program for now he says.

She was to leave on Wednesday, the same day I leave for Palm Beach golf trip. But she was asked to come out  earlier for  second  interviews  for two internships she is really excited about. Great  !! I say and tell myself to smile but thinking oh no now I am here in this house  until Wed. Will be working until half day Wednesday then leave for the airport.

But I will muddle through. Miss their company already cousins friends in and out. People are starting up with great ideas - since your son will probably move out after the holidays adopt a dog, a cat, a child. One ranked them in that order. Adoption thats what these non widowed folks say they would do !  Well they are not me ! !! Everyone has an opinion. From clothes yes I still like my short skirts and dresses to activities sooo many uh huh and men or in my case meeting coconuts who are married or  divorced and want to try to freeload. Or the nice widower I met with his first wife (ex wife) seriously stalking him says it began 18 mo after his second wife died. The first wife divorced him. And whats wrong with letting a single girlfriend move in for a couple of months ? LOTS. Especially if they are trying to run to my house to escape a relationship gone sour.

To take my mind off of the above decided to take a look at the  Yankee Candle fundraising catalog so I dont forget to make a purchase.. Drew and I were diagnosed with diabetes exactly 24 hrs apart. But my side is now 64 % diabetic and we are all thin women and men.Besides the October walk/run to raise money for diabetic research I suggested a family fundraiser also with all proceeds going to diabetes research. I am mentioning this because I assumed the Y C fundraisers were for schools. But a nurse at work did one in the spring for M S which is in her family.

I stopped in one of the stores got a contact and I spoke to the rep the next day then  called ADA and all set. Of course my family "voted" me Chairperson. So appreciate it. Fundraising can be done in person or online.  Our family is doing both. The sale is going really well we chose the catalogs that included Fall Halloween Thanksgiving Christmas and Winter. I wanted winter items I add something each year to my collection of snowladies and snowmen and I keep them up through January. Just a thought if anyone is looking to fundraise.

I know by now you are already in Palm Beach and hope you are enjoying yourself.  I hope the couple of days by yourself went okay.  That Yankee candle fundraiser sounds like a great idea and thanks so much for the contest info.
