Widowed Village

I really wonder who is advising the writers on this show about what a widow/widower goes through after the loss of a spouse?  I know I know, it's a comedy show.  Matthew Perry is pretty much just acting like all the other characters he's played in his other shows except with a dead wife that now appears to him as a ghost?   I don't get the storyline about a grieving widower from this show.  It's really about a group of kooky people.  A guess he works better in a group of "Friends" than as the main character on his own.  I think if it was a drama we'd all be more in tuned to it but it's a comedy.  No one would want to have an inside look at the life of a widow/widower.  Too depressing.  Let's not touch that with a 10 foot pole.  His last comedy show (I forget the name of it) didn't make it longer than one season and I doubt this one will either.  Don't get me wrong, I like Matthew Perry and will probably watch it but only for what it is...mindless TV which is pretty much all I can handle these days;/

Hi Honeyspuddin,

Thanks so much for trying to watch the show and for sharing your perspective, as well as for "Playing along" on this "team blogging" thing with others. I just posted the "master post" so you can see the links to what the others have written so far.

Yeah, I wonder what it would have been like as a drama?
