Hi! Max, Where's Your Better Half-We Miss her??

I was at the grocery store and I heard a voice behind me ask that question, I turned and it was a couple that we knew that had moved to Florida.  I smiled, choked for a second and then explained about Esther, they said they were sorry and then they were gone.

On the way home I thought about my losing my ( Better Half) and I realized that was really true, she was the best of me/us in so many ways.

My question now is - how do we get whole again, do we have to find a facsimile or can the half become the whole?

Hi Max, it's a common question...how do we become whole again.  I've pondered this a lot over the course of my life and for me I've found it's a lot like Leggo...one block at a time...piece by piece.  Becoming whole is a journey and half the fun is in the journey.  And one interesting thing I've found is that the journey of becoming whole is ongoing...we are the sum of our experiences and while we live we are always experiencing something.  The half does become a whole again, as I found on my first journey 11 years ago.

I found another wonderful person to compliment me and become my husband and now he too is gone...and I am rebuilding.  He wasn't a facsimilie of my first husband, nothing alike in fact.  He didn't replace my first husband, he holds his own place in my heart, as does my first husband.

The half can become the whole through throwing yourself into your new life...no guts, no glory as they say.  Becoming more involved in your community can help, offering to help others, even small things help you feel you are actually contributing to your new life.  I wish you well on your journey...happy building, Chez
