This section of Widowed Village is devoted to our Recently Widowed members. Soaring Spirits defines recently widowed as anyone who has been widowed from one to three years.
After the first year of widowhood passes, many widowed people experience a decline in support from their family and friends. There is an assumption that after you’ve lived through the first year, things should be on the upswing. While coping ability does increase for most widowed people at this stage, the ramifications associated with the death of your person become more and more clear. Though most people are no longer reeling with shock related to their person’s death, the realities that accompany life without your person are now a regular part of your life.
During this time when support, understanding and patience are needed more than ever, many widowed people struggle to find support during this widowed stage.
Access to a supportive community, like the one available through Soaring Spirits, can provide both comfort and hope as you face the challenges of rebuilding your life after the death of your person. This page is full of resources designed specifically for this time of widowhood. We want you to know that you are not alone, and that in Soaring Spirits you’ve found a community that will walk with you through all the days ahead.
